Due to procrastination and not starting this project on time I will be doing three weeks worth of running in one week.. I know what your thinking, because I'm thinking the same thing, how am I gonna do that. Well here is my plan: Monday I ran 5 miles for the second time, Today am will be doing a time trail, one mile as fast as a I can, and Saturday I'm going to attempt 7 miles. Updates to this post will be made accordingly.
Monday: One thing you must understand about this run is that with it being the time of the year it is I have not been eating great, really not good at all, because I'm not going to turn down a piece of apple pie. So running since Thanksgiving in general has been hard. The fastest mile was also the first mile today, I did not pace myself well at all. By the end of mile 3 I was dying. I stopped took a breather because, well there's no going back now. The slowest mile was 12:23, pretty dang bad. Thursday: One mile. All I did was one mile. As fast as I could (without dying). 8:24. I've come a long way from where I started. Now we wait for Saturday!

This week was rough. I was very busy and only ran one day this week. I ran 5 miles. My fastest mile was 8:54 and my slowest was 11:23. I also did two ab workouts on Saturday just to get moving.
This week I ran a total of 8 miles. I did two 4 mile runs, one on Monday and one on Wednesday. The fastest mile of the week was 8:43 and the slowest was 10:39. I did not run much this week but I tried something new on Wednesday's run, I vlogged it. It was quite interesting, so I will attach it down below.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MJ0kWtqwO0NKhGuOVk65YB39UgPRn2cX/view?usp=sharing This week I only ran twice. On Tuesday I ran six miles for the first time ever! In six weeks I've come from running a mile or two to six! It took me one hour ten minutes and 53 seconds. My fastest mile was eight minutes and 49 seconds, that was mile number three. For my second run on Thursday I ran four miles.
After last week it was easier to run. It felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest. My mile time is pretty inconsistent. My fastest mile this week was 9 minutes and 26 seconds and my slowest mile was 11 minutes and 39 seconds. While my time is not decreasing my endurance is getting much better. I am able to run for much longer without stopping which makes me very proud of myself. I ran 3.7 miles without stopping this week!
This week was... a week, that's for sure. I ran four times this week all over 3 miles but my times were slow. My fastest mile was 9 minutes and 43 seconds which was very disappointing. This made me really discouraged and I just felt like quitting. I was really reluctant to write this post and make it public because I was scared to be judged by whoever may see this post. I explained to my mom how I felt and while she understood how I felt, yet she pushed me harder to get back out and run. So I did, with her. This week made me realize that it doesn't matter what other people think and if someone's not going to support you on your journey to get somewhere, they don't deserve you when you make it.
Hey Y'all! I am so proud of myself with this weeks progress! I only went on two runs this week one on Wednesday and Saturday. On Wednesday was not motivated at all, I thought to myself "Let's just get this over with so I have something to write about for that darn Genius Hour project". Let's just say this run was as horrible as I thought it was going to be. I planned to do 4.2 miles and about a mile in I stepped in literal horse poop. I was so freaking mad that it just made me run even faster. The fastest mile was 9 minutes and 45 seconds but the slowest mile was around 10 minutes and 57 seconds. However Saturday was much better, I had nothing to do for a few hours so I decide to go on my longest run yet, 5.7 miles. The run started out on my normal route then cut across into a whole different county, Iredell to be exact. Then just at the half way mark, it started pouring. Like not your normal rain, the kinda rain when you wait in the car for it to slow down before you go inside. The kinda rain that stings when it hits your bare skin. Yeah, that kinda rain. So I really didn't know what to do. I called my dad and of course being the kind of man he is, he said just keep going unless it started lightning. So that's exactly what I did. And I have never had more fun on a run then I did that day. I made sure to step in every puddle to get the highest splash I could. When I got home I was drenched from head to toe, yet I felt awesome. All around a great week.
This week was a challenge. The longest run I ran was 3 miles, and when I say I died I am still surprised I'm breathing after that day. It started out fine but then...I got calf cramps. The worst cramps I've ever had were the ones I had that day. After some research I decided that I needed to be drinking more water all throughout the day but mainly before my run. I also read that eating a banana after a run is good for cramps. So on Wednesday I ran just a mile and it was like Heaven compared to the 3 mile run earlier in the week. Fastest mile: 10:27!
Have you ever felt like life was just one big uphill battle? Like no matter what you did everything just kept getting harder and harder? Well that was my first run this week, literally. The two mile loop, that I ran, started with a very slow incline which eventually turned to a steep, monster of a hill. My first mile was 11 minutes and 45 seconds, the second mile was 10 minutes and 39 seconds which was about what I had expected. On Wednesday I also did a 30 minute HIIT workout and then ran again on Thursday. My Thursday run was only one mile, I finished in 10 minutes and 56 seconds. So far I am very proud of myself and not feeling too sore.
